The hamstring muscles form the muscle bulk in the back of the thigh. They stretch from the sit bones to just below the knee. The hamstrings are important during running, jumping, standing and getting up or down from a chair (among many other activities).
They help stabilize the hip and knee joints and can become tight and weak, leading to limitations in pelvis mobility that can also contribute to low back pain. Regularly stretching your hamstrings can increase flexibility, enhance your range of motion, and prevent injuries, contributing to overall body mobility and health.
