The supine diagonal shoulder abduction with band targets the muscles of the shoulders, shoulder blades and arms while using the core to stabilize.
Begin lying on your back with both knees bent and feet flat on the mat. Hold a resistance band in both hands. Begin with your right arm straight along your side, palm facing up. Your right hand should be by your right hip. Your left hand will be across your body by your right hip with slack in the resistance band.
While stabilizing your right arm by your right side, slowly draw the left hand diagonally up and over your shoulder while keeping the elbow straight. Imagine you are drawing a sword out of its sheath and raising it over your head. Hold, then slowly return to the starting position.
