Shoulder Roll

Purpose

The shoulder roll warms up the muscles of your shoulders and mid back that are important for good posture.

Set up

Stand with your feet hip width apart and your knees slightly bent.

Movement

Gently shrug your shoulders up towards your ears, and then circle them backward and down in the shape of a letter “D.”

To get a total body warm-up, shift from side to side as you perform this exercise.

Tips

  • Think about squeezing your shoulder blades together as you bring your shoulders back and down.
